  Phoned up early evening just in case they had a spare table, got one reserved for us at 8:45 so based on this you should heed other reviewers advice and book well in advance if you want to eat at a time of your choosing. Eating late actually suited us fine as we'd been on the last ferry back from Mull. Even so we had to wait a little for a table, the place was packed. Staff were friendly though and got us seated as soon as a table was free.
  We shared the seafood platter for a starter, which was very generously loaded with perfectly cooked mussels as well as some tiny but delicious Thai fishcakes (a few less mussels and a few more of these would have balanced the starter more) plus a couple of salmon and prawn parcels. The main courses didn't disappoint either, half lobster was fairly pricey but they always are, and it did have plenty of meat. My partner's salmon mornay was apparently delicious too (I didn't get to try any!).

  Incredibly fresh and flavoursome seafood, cooked well. We had a fantastic meal. The quality of produce could not be faulted, and the service was friendly and attentive. We ate oysters to begin - large and well prepped (no grit). Smoked haddock chowder and mussels as starters were both excellent, the mussels probably the best I have ever eaten, with a perfectly balanced accompaniment of wine, garlic and shallots. Our mains of halibut and lobster were again very well cooked and delicious. "That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah", as my companion said. Presentation is simple and not very tidy, but who cares when the food tastes this good. A well chosen wine list is available, with suggestions for food matches. I would disagree with other reviewers that the price is too high - I thought the portions were spot on, and good value.

  Reservations are a must. We were seated by the door and at first was worried the location would be too loud or cold but it was fine. Staff took our coats and took drink orders. Food was delicious- ordered a champagne cocktail which was very nice and a half dozen oyster starter. The oysters were top notch. Next had the calamari which was good. Halibut and the seafood platter as mains and both dishes were excellent. Nice whisky selection. Bread and butter pudding was soo good. Service was very good especially considering how busy the restaurant was.

  This is the place. Well worth a journey across the countryside just to eat here. Fresh seafood done properly. Book in advance as it clearly has an excellent reputation and fills up very quickly.
